Episode 46: Ordinary Exuberance

A hard rain, delicious scents, our weird little hobbies and conversations that last a lifetime -- it's time for happiness in the everyday.

Tiny samples of all different types of perfumes.

Brand new dry erase markers, fresh out of the packages.

A full tank of gas in your car.

Giving someone else a pep talk that leaves them feeling so much better.

Researching a topic you’re genuinely interested in and learning so much about your weird little hobby.

When someone tells you how much they appreciate you.

Trying a flavor of ice cream that you’ve never heard of before.

Using up a bottle of shampoo completely.

Walking out of the airport to somewhere that you’ve never been yet.

The moment at the grocery store when your total goes down by half because of all your coupons.

Being alone in a public restroom.

Organizing your clothes and giving away the things that you no longer need.

Plugging in the USB cord correctly on the very first try.

Donating money to a cause you believe in.

The green tea that tastes like toasted rice, so delicious.

Other people laughing hysterically at your little jokes.

Getting an email that your package has shipped.

The vibrant blue and yellow color of an Iris flower, the strange shape, the long stem.

A really hard rain that washes the dust from the city, clearing out streets, watering plants and cleaning the air itself.

Finding $20 on the ground with no one to give it back to.

Being exactly on time for everything.

Watching your nieces and nephews grow up and become real-life people.

Realizing that even though you’ve been talking for hours with the same person, it feels like there’s a lifetime of things to still say to them.
