Episode 3: Something Sumptuous

Spells will be read, separated by moments of stillness to give you the space to think. A hint of ASMR, a touch of guided meditation, a lot of gratitude.

Inhaling a crisp, absolutely cold breath of air as you bury your hands deeper in your jacket pockets, tilt your head back and look at the sky.

Holding a small baby unexpectedly, marveling at how small we all begin, how tiny our hands, our feet and how unknowing we once were.

Watching the person you love do something they’re really good at.

Looking for fabric and coming across something sumptuous, a thick and rich velvet, the most gorgeous golden brown that just isn’t right for anything you had in mind.

Walking through a library, seeing children bent over homework, adults reading quietly and a librarian laughing as she attempts to reach a book on a high shelf.

A pair of shoes perfectly worn in, soft and comfortable, that never give you blisters.

An unexpected joke, from somewhere you least expected it, strikes you just so and you can’t stop laughing.

The feeling of sea salt between your fingers as you sprinkle it over a meal, how it crisps and crunches.

Reading your horoscope even if you don’t believe all that guff and finding it far too accurate for comfort.

The sound of rain hitting a window pane as you lean your forehead against the glass, ice cold and smooth against your skin.

Running your finger tips over an embossed surface, feeling the small impressions glide underneath them.

When the doctor says it isn’t as bad as you thought, and that you’ll be fine in a few days, that you just need to rest.

A small cat sleeping curled up next to you, warm and soft under your hand.

Recognizing an actor you love out in public, not bothering them, just happy to see them out in the world enjoying their life too.

Listening to your sister practice the cello, the hollow sounds and deep harmonies pouring forth from another room of the house.

Believing that change is possible even in some small insignificant way.
