Episode 4: Your Truest Form

Spells will be read, separated by moments of stillness to give you the space to think. A hint of ASMR, a touch of guided meditation, a lot of gratitude.

Opening your door to find yourself home alone for a few moments or a few hours or a lifetime, quiet and comfortable, entirely yourself in your truest form.

Apologizing when you really were in the wrong and being told so quickly and sincerely not to even worry about it.

Giving someone the exact right present, something so lovely and unexpected that they never even thought to want.

A snappy haircut that makes you feel twice as powerful as you should.

A drink at the end of a long walk in the sun, a tall glass of water with crushed ice and the feeling of it running down your throat, cold and filling and surprising.

Hammering a nail into a board, feeling the solid weight of the hammer in your hand and satisfying sensation as it pounds the nail home.

Realizing all of a sudden there’s no such thing as adulthood and that you’ll be yourself, you forever.

Remembering unexpectedly the name of a person or a thing you’ve been struggling to remember for days, feeling your body flood with relief as you say it to yourself out loud.

Pulling your hands into your hoodie as you set next to an outdoor fire, a friend next you to warm, your back slightly too cold, your face flush in hot and the bright orange flames, the red burnished coals.

When your taxes are smooth and uncomplicated and you’ve saved enough to pay your bill without worry.

Stepping into the shortest line of the grocery store without even trying to.

Unexpectedly catching a sunset you weren’t supposed to be outside for, with pinks and golds and blues streaking endlessly across the sky -- willing yourself to remember it, to remember this.

The crickets in the night air, steady, irritating at times but constant, consistent and true.

Writing down a list of the things you’re most grateful for and, surprised, you write and write, name after name, moment after moment your gratitude swelling and endless.
